2026 NCCTM Leadership Seminar

Tinker Together: Empowering Mathematics Leaders Through Collaboration

Wednesday, November 4, 2026
Winston-Salem, North Carolina

Why This Matters Now

This year’s Leadership Seminar is intentionally designed around two connected questions: What's the "why" behind the new structure of the revised standards? and How do mathematics leaders guide what comes next?

The morning keynote will help leaders understand the instructional “why” behind the shifts in North Carolina’s new mathematics standards. Grace Kelemanik and Amy Lucenta’s work on reasoning routines, discourse, and mathematical thinking has strongly influenced the field and aligns closely with the way the new standards are organized.

The afternoon keynote and breakouts will shift from “why” to “how.” Leaders will consider how to support coherence, professional learning, instructional materials decisions, and thoughtful implementation across schools and districts.

Who Should Attend?

The NCCTM Leadership Seminar is designed for district leaders, school administrators, instructional coaches, teacher leaders, and mathematics education advocates who are working to support high-quality mathematics teaching and learning across North Carolina.
