The North Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCCTM) is the professional organization in North Carolina for all persons responsible for the teaching of mathematics.
An affiliate of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), NCCTM's membership includes teachers from all levels, kindergarten through graduate school, and other professionals who work with curriculum and materials for the teaching of mathematics.
Regional Programming
To ensure NCCTM has local impact, North Carolina is divided into three regions, each with its own leadership and program offerings, in addition to those of the state organization. Elected officers determine state-wide and regional program and policy.
NCCTM Statement on Equitable Access to Quality Mathematics Instruction
Students need to experience mathematics in ways that allow them to be successful and that give them the power to change the world. This experience needs to be delivered with both excellence and equality while resonating with the lives of Black, Latinx, Indigenous, Asian, and all marginalized peoples. Racism cannot be tolerated, and we as teachers must be vigilant that we do not tolerate nor contribute to racism, bias, hate, or violence in our classrooms.
